Today morning Ive seen a Ted-Talk from Kio Stark, a inspiring woman, about talking to strangers. I saw this because this have been a really confusing problem for me.
**I am a very curious person. I would look at everything on the street, everything that runs into my eyes. And I want to know deeper about them. To me is everyone a treasure to discover.Just like reading a book, I would say.
**Another reason—— I’m a student who’s learning german. Being here in Germany is a great chance for me to improve my language skills.
That’s two reasons why I always want to talk to random strangers.
When dogs meet, they get near to each other and greet. But humans don’t do this.
But for long I have been fighting myself. As a kid I was always the shyest girl in the class, who doesn't dare to say anything in the class, who just learn and learn and get good grades, who is shy to show who she is. Also when I try to talk to others on the train or in the bar, my friends would throw a kind of peculiar blick to me. Living in a conservative country for 20 years, no wonder for my struggle.
After I saw the ted talk this morning. I have the feeling that I find someone that share the same thoughts as me. I’m excited but also anxious.Because I’m a person who really really need much courage and it’s so difficult when I fight myself alone.
So I’m thinking about starting a campaign or something to have people help each other to get connected, and also to overcome your own fear. To write down your talking to the strangers that you meet and share the story on a public page. So we could encourage each other.
Tell me how you think.
And here’s a link for the technics of random
talking.
